  1. Excellent post Blain. You brought up many good points. Will need to rethink my advertising.

  2. Jon Olson says:

Good stuff man, like I was telling you in chat earlier, this is what the industry has become….We can change it and with messages like this, I think some folks will ‘get it’…great points man!

    • Blain says:

Yeah, it’s sad. I have a lot of stuff planned to hopefully help people start building their business and get everyone into the right mindset with everything.

  3. Great Video Blain

Oh and notice People Blain uses a capture page this blog has a sign up link to the right subscribe and learn how to do it right.

    • Blain says:

Thanks for the comment and yes Monty, I use my own capture or squeeze pages and people also have the option to sign up and subscribe right here from the blog! It is the simple things that people cannot seem to get right that can make all the difference in the world!

  4. Good Blog and good video/ I look forward to more from you. Cardboard List while surfing? Cute.

    • Blain says:

Thanks for the comments Evelyn! Yeah, I couldn’t find a notebook or paper but I had a piece of cardboard lying around and I am not the person to let something simple stop me from getting done what I want to do!

  5. Paul Germana says:

If splashpages don’t work then, then we need to stop putting them in the section entitled “Affiliate”. I believe they DO work. I have joined thousands of exchanges through splashpages.

People don’t get results from splashpages, simply because they give up. They think there’s people out there with leverage and it worries them. They say “I’ll never get anywhere at this rate.” then they join something else…never consistently promoting anything.

And that “leverage” people seem to have… is them saying, “that’ll never work!”, “You may as well quit”, “You have no idea what you’re doing” It’s surprising to think that “trail blazers” would say that “anything” is impossible; or that 1 + 1 = 1. But they do. Create a demand and you can sell fire in hell.

    • Blain says:

Paul, I’m not saying that splash pages don’t work. I am not saying that anything doesn’t work. What I am saying is that there are some really effective ways out there to get people to click on and go to whatever you are offering. People just need to leverage them more and stick out like a purple cow. If my page looks like everyone else’s then who really has the advantage??

    • Scott Rohn says:

Hi Paul I’m going to chime in here. The splash pages in the affiliate area do work. However if you use one of those you need to remember that page is also being used by lots of other members. So personally I choose not to use them to make my own using video from time to time. But that’s just my opinion

      • Blain says:

I agree with you there Scott, that is exactly what I am talking about. Why would you promote the same thing everyone else is? Why wouldn’t you want to stick out from the crowd and have everyone notice you?

  6. Scott Rohn says:

First of all its Great to have you back Blain. Your video was right on the money and thanks for the mention appreciate that. Also appreciate you subscribing to my blog.

    • Blain says:

Thanks Scott, I am happy to be back!! You’re welcome for subscribing, like I said, your page stuck out and actually made me want to take action, so I did.

  7. Hi Blain great post! Great to have you back critiquing websites! I learned allot from you a few years ago when you use to critique Adkreator pages for people. Thank you so much for mentioning Adkreator! 🙂 You made my day again!

    • Blain says:

Thanks Barb! Yeah I will be doing some critiquing here in the near future. Thinking about doing a video while I surf and just talking about what I see. No problem, I have used AdKreator for some time and it still is an easy to use tool that helps out a lot.
